Description
What you will do on a day-to-day basis: Utilize your automotive technical knowledge and expertise, along with information in the public domain, subscription services, trade shows, and proprietary datasets, to develop a risk profile for varied classes of makes, models, and trims to help support of a rating engine to drive accuracy. You will be challenged to use your experience and deep technical understanding of vehicles characteristics such as platform sharing, powertrain, chassis, OEM architecture, engine manufacturing standards, electrical, and mechanical components. And yes, you will also get deep into the motors, stators, inverters, and other components within the new breed of electric vehicles.
With your technical knowledge you will be instrumental in using data to identify, classify, and organize the variables for the underwriting model that represent the risk exposure of the vehicle. And you will partner and collaborate with our data/analytics team to innovate a new underwriting platform/model within this journey.
Note that it is not necessary that you have prior underwriting or insurance experience. What is important is that you “really” know and love cars, and that you are comfortable working in a technical data environment. If you do, you will be in good company. We have no shortage of gearheads on our team (over 200 ASE certifications) and are rapidly building out our data and analytics practice as well.
